Summary: Quick, simple, easy-to-do experiments for young scientists..
Comment: The simplicity of the text, pictures, materials used, and the experiments themselves struck me as being ideal for young children. Kids
trying these experiments will find themselves having too much fun to even think they are learning. Adult lab assistants will enjoy the
ease of preparation and the use of common, inexpen
sive materials used. Most activities can be done
in a short time and are perfect "fillers". Others
require some patience and daily observation. The
authors explain and encourage the use of journals
to record what is happening---just like a real
scientist or researcher would do. The step-by-
step pictures make the pages even more interesting
and informative and the concept simpler to under-
stand for non-readers. This would be an excellent
book to introduce the sciences and to teach across
several skill areas (reading, writing, predicting
 outcomes, observation, sequencing).
