Summary: A Terrfic, funny, scary, heart warming story about Texas
Comment: This was a refreshing surprize to an occult novel. The main character, Michelle, is an outsider of the town Brownsville, Texas. Already tormented by troubles from her past, she meets up with a real dirty rat among men, who works all kinds of witchcraft and evil on her. This kind of thing could really happen and does! This story really moves, is very enthralling. But the best part I liked the most was Michelle's involvement with a ghost named Melo. He was a bad person in life, but it seemed like he wanted to redeem himself by helping her. That was a very touching part of this story. I recommend this book to anyone who likes horror, romance and a good laugh now and then. The Mexican folklore was great, too, and included La Llorona, the Anima Sola, curanderos and and the beliefs. This story was so vividly told, someone should make a movie out if it!
