When her mother announces that she plans to marry a wealth man, Mr. Trainer, Ida is devastated, because deep down inside it confirms her worst fear - that her father is gone for good. When Ida is injured in a terrible accident, she fears she may never walk again. But as Ida will discover, there is always hope - for herself, the new family created by her mother's remarriage, and even for the war-torn world.
