Summary: Myrtle the Turtle
Comment: At first glance this might appear to be a children's book but it is not..it is very very amusing, one might call it a spoof or even possibly a satire. It is classified as turtles;fiction. It captures all the persona that onemight find where this story takes place..on the campus of Princeton University! Myrtle, her family, especially Uncle Herman, all live on the campus and have a definite point of view and tales to tell. There are at least a dozen full page drawn illustrations..which are great. The end papers are actually maps of the Princeton Campus, according to Myrtle the Turtle.Myrtle says no other species on earth contemplates as much as do turtles. Naturally they have many, many wise thoughts and observations.
