Summary: Twin of Ice & Twin of Fire--2 must read books!!
Comment: This is the first of two books written about Houston and Blair Chandler. In "Twin of Ice," Houston is engaged to be married to Dr. Lee Westfield. Her sister comes home from Pennsylvania to be in Houston's wedding. BUT Houston has other things on her mind. Like seeing the inside of Kane Taggert's really big house! So, Houston convinces Blair to take her place on a date with Lee, while she goes to see Kane's house. Things progress rather rapidly for both couples from there on thru the end of the sister book, "Twin of Fire". In my opinion, you can't read one and not read the other one. "Twin of Fire" brings everything in a circle and finishes two stories that begin in "Twin of Ice."

Summary: Another one that I couldn't put down.
Comment: As she does with her "Montgomery" novels, Jude Deveraux uses her talent to captivate the reader. It is so easy to get caught up in her books and to forget the world exists. Kane Taggert, like most of her heroes, is likeable. One aspect of this book that I really liked was the way his character was developed and how he came full-circle - from someone just out for revenge to someone who saw what love could do. Kane and Houston were a great match! And, I look forward to reading Twin of Fire - it's always nice how Deveraux writes other books about her characters so that you can get to know them from every aspect. Definitely worth buying.

Summary: You got ta be kiddin' me...
Comment: Okay, I admit I am only about half way through this book, but I just had to vent! I can't believe the average rating on this book is five stars. I am fine with the heroine and even the storyline (I've decided to overlook the fact that Houston's twin sister pretty much stabbed her in the back by doing something UNTHINKABLE toward the beginning of the book and the characters did nothing more than bicker about it a couple of times). Kane, the "hero" (and I use that term loosely) in this book, is ridiculous. How can anyone picture this guy as being attractive? I can't get passed the fact that he uses phrases like, "You ain't gonna..." I have a very hard time making myself believe that he was smart enough to earn all of his money, let alone romance someone like Houston. His "charms" aren't working on me!
A little variety is nice when it comes to heroes, but I think Ms. Deveraux has gone a little too far with this one. If you like heroes who are tall, dark, handsome AND INTELLIGENT, I'd pass on this one...or as Kane would say, "Pass on this un'"
