Summary: I highly recommend this text.
Comment: William K. Purve's Biology text was among the best texts I have used in any class throughout high school and college. Clearly yet pleasantly written, the text was an easy read as well as a valuable study guide. Each chapter clarified important concepts and chapter summaries presented these concepts on a single page or less. The photos and figures presented not only grabbed the eye, but were relevant to the text itself. Additionally, in a paperback form, Purves book is economical, costing much less than most other science texts I've used in college. I enthusiatically recommend this text book.
