Comment: It was with a sense of fresh delight that I read Mystic Uncle And The Magical Bridge by Jeffrey Winters. The book hits a home run on several levels. On the surface, it's a great, full-steam-ahead adventure yarn about two boys who help an otherworldly character, Mystic Uncle, save his parallel world. But Winters also knows how to craft a spell-binding tale that sparkles with gems of wisdom carefully placed so that they don't get in the way of the story.

And who better to place these gems than Mystic Uncle, a wonderful, somewhat enigmatic character who wins our hearts on first meeting and stays in our minds long after we close the book. With Mystic Uncle's gentle and patient guidance, the young heroes learn that self defense skills are valuable tools, but brain not brawn is the best way to cope with challenges encountered along the highway of life.
