Title: How to Succeed With Women by Ron Louis, David Copeland ISBN: 0-7352-0030-0 Publisher: Prentice Hall Press Pub. Date: October, 1998 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $15.00 |

Summary: Plus and Minus
Comment: This book has some of the shortcomings that other reviewers have pointed to: it IS padded, in sections long on anecdote and short on practical advice, and spends a lot of text puffing about how great the book is. It would be worth twice as much if it was half as long. Buy it and rip out some pages.
Applying the techniques in this book can work. Some of the stuff that it points out might SEEM pretty basic, but given the huge range of guys that just don't seem to understand those basics, that can be useful. If you would self-diagnose as, say, too intense or geeky to succeed with women, this book can be very helpful. It's "game"/"don't take it personally" approach to attracting women can actually be very productive if you've got self-confidence issues.
It also advocates a pretty 'cold' approach to women: talk to 1000 to hit on 100, hit on 100 to date 10, date 10 to...you get the idea. Play them off against one another, and don't suffer the needy, the clingy, or the psychos. It ought to be titled "how to be a playa".
Female readers will probably be queasy, but better-informed. The fact that it's techniques WORK is as much an indictment of the women that fall for them as it is of the men (or women, I suppose) that use them.

Summary: Helps a great deal towards the dating game
Comment: This is a great book for learning how to date and mate with women/girls. The last chapter at the end deals with how to be successful in a long term relationship. So, if you want the latter, you're better off with another book like de Angelis' HOW TO MAKE LOVE ALL THE TIME or Gray's MEN ARE FROM MARS or Bach's THE INTIMATE ENEMY.
Unlike a lot of books which tell you to just have guts and think positive, this book goes through a total makeup of how you must think, how to develop a style that will attract the woman you want, how to flirt and how to budget your time with women.
There's also a great section for inducing certain emotions in women. This isn't hypnotism but more about making the most out of time together . .. so that she starts to feel great around you and therefore wants to spend more time with you.
Other highlights:
(1) Where to find women; (2) various techniques for flirting; (3) building up your confidence with them; (4) first dates checklist; (5) kissing and more; (6) keeping up after the first date; (7) breaking up; (8) avoiding problematic women; and (9) from casual to committed.
Overall, this is a great book for a man who wants to improve his dating techniques with women.

Summary: How to be the lowest type of male
Comment: This book teaches males to be stupid [prostitutes]. It teaches males how to deceive and manipulate women. This is not "success," it's horrible. The book tells males that because they have the urge they should indulge it and to not do so is somehow bad, which is nonsense. Having sexual urges is normal for men and women, but that doesn't mean that you should make it your life's work to indulge them, as the book recommends. It particularly doesn't mean that you have the right to manipulate and deceive. The book teaches males to [work on] and debase courting gestures, and reduces women to sub-humans whose only function is to provide fleeting gratification. The book actually tells males to literally have "a piece on the side."
Being a successful man is no different from being a successful woman. It's about being an adult, which is based on self-discipline and integrity. Respected adults do not indulge every whim, nor do they intentionally manipulate and deceive with a "detailed seduction plan," as the book would have its readers do. Further, the idea that saving oneself for someone you really love and care about is absolutely not outdated or restricted to women. I'm not suggesting total celibacy, but there is such a thing as having enough pride in yourself that the gift of your body is given only to someone you really care about, who honors you. This applies for men and women.
I do encourage women to read this book (don't buy it though, don't give the authors any more money) so that they can avoid these males like the plague that they are. I would also encourage male readers to try "The Way of the Superior Man" by David Deida.
Lastly, I will remind male readers to consider that at some point you may want a serious, long-term partner, and she is not likely to want an undisciplined slut for a partner, nor will it be ok that "in the past" you used the techniques in this book to hurt, debase and deceive women.
