Summary: Version 2003 vs. Version 2002
Comment: I've seen that a lot of people have commented about the fact that this book lacks MSDN and that sample files doesn't work. I would recommend bying Microsoft Visual Basic .Net Deluxe Learning Edition: Version 2002 instead. It is very few changes in the Visual Basic language it self (2 in fact) and the 2002 version includes all help. The sample projects work and they upgrade to VB.Net 2003 when you open them in VB.Net 2003

Summary: No .NET
Comment: This package is nonsense. I also did not receive any .NET software, I thought that buying it in the store shrinkwrapped would solve this problem; I was however, sadly mistaken. I did receive 3 cd's with the MSDN junk, but no .NET standard software, causing extreme exasperation. Do not buy this weak package if you want anything useful. If you enjoy tossing money then by all means....

Comment: I've read a couple reviews that say this doesn't come with the MSDN discs. Mine ONLY came with them and didn't come with the Visual Basic discs! (Which was, needless to say, very annoying.)
The book itself seems like a good choice for anyone new to programming or just new to Visual Basic, and the package deal is great, as long as all the software is included!
