Summary: Solid Information, Solid Advice!
Comment: I am 41, already have osteoporosis, and was in desperate need of some reliable information on hormone therapy. I read this book from cover to cover like a novel. It makes hormones and their effects so much easier to understand. Now I know how to recognize deficiencies and excesses of the most important hormones. Based on Dr. Reiss's recommendations for working with a physician, I found a doctor that understands my needs, conducted thorough testing, and is prescribing exactly what I need. I bring this book with me to the doctor's office, and I refer to it regularly now. It's going to be one of the most well-used books in my home library. Thank you, Dr. Reiss!

Summary: Concrete and Detailed
Comment: I will add my voice of acclaim for this valuable book. I was looking for someone who could tell me what the symptoms were of too little estrogen, too little progesterone, too much progesterone, etc. and could not find that information anywhere on the internet. Lab tests are expensive, often inaccurate, and ultimately irrelevant if you have "normal" values but are still experiencing symptoms. Dr. Reiss explains in wonderful detail what various symptoms mean and what hormones to take, when and how, and where to get them. There are sections for women approaching menopause as well as in the middle of it and all the way through it. He shares a tremendous wealth of experience!
My first impression was that he was perhaps a "fringe" doctor, one of those who think they've solved some common problem but they can't get other doctors to listen to them. But the more I read, the more I became convinced that he really knows what he's talking about and has solid research studies to back up his opinions. And my doctor was the one who recommended his book. I'm sure his approach will become more and more mainstream in the next few years.
I have been recommending this book to all my perimenopausal and menopausal friends and they have been as excited by it as I am.

Summary: Do Not trust What You Read In This book.HRT Kills Women
Comment: As a women that has been through Menopause Peri Menopause.I was so naive to think this regiment of estrogen and progestins would help me."Wrong they almost killed me.The doctors of course said it was all In my head.I went from one doctor to another.Took every test there was only to find out what I already knew. HRT kills Women.I was well on my way I had every symptom.Headaches,Body aches, Legs got so bad I could hardly walk.Heart palpatations, Edema fluid in body,I searched for a natural way to help my self.I found one doing my own research for 2 years.Progesterone Cream. But It had to be the right one. Do not take HRT. Research for your self ask questions.Read books about HRT and what It does to you. This book Lies to all Women."Hrt Kills Women" I have had 6 friends also 2 relatives who died of some form of cancer In their early fortys or fiftys who took HRT" Do not listen to this Dr he gets paid to peddle pills to women" They all get paid to kill us with HRT" From someone who knows and has been through the whole HRT treatment every pill out there.Doctors only have so many days of medical school to study women and menopause.Then they write a book like this for us to read.Look younger,Stronger,"Give HRT to all male DR's"
