Summary: Financial education told in a fun to read, laid-back style
Comment: *The most important lesson I learned*: learn to live without your credit cards and buy everything cash. Bradshaw calls this "You can have when you have [cash]" If you don't have the cash to buy something, then don't buy it.(I learned a lot of lessons from this book, but this one really hit home) I wish I had this book a few years ago, before I sunk into debt. Heck, I wish I had it before I graduated from college. This book is critical to everyone who is financially ignorant. If you have no financial plan, no idea of how to budget, how much to save, how to invest in the stock market, this book is for you. The reader who suggested this book be given to HS students is on the money. The sooner you lay your financial foundation, the sooner prosperity will come to you and the farther away debt will stay. NO ONE WILL DO IT FOR YOU! Most Americans need to read this book- if you are reading my review, chances are YOU need this book. I had started reading "How to get out of Debt" and the "Wealthy Barber" and they are boring at best, poorly-written at worst. ("How to get out of debt" is a solid program, its just boring to read through)
This book should be the beginner's bible on financial health.
I found the book hilarious and entertaining but I am a wrestling fan and have the same sense of humor as the author, so you may not find the book as entertaining as I did. But it is a fun read compared to anything else out on the market! If you are in debt or don't know how to manage your money, buy it. Don't be cheap and don't procrastinate! Good luck and financial health to everyone who needs this book

Summary: Enjoyable Read
Comment: I bought this book as a wrestling fan because of Bradshaw's name and I have to say that this was a very infromative book. I'm sure some people will try to tear it down because Layfield doesn't work on Wall Street and doesn't have a business degree etc. but that is the appeal of the book. It's written from an average man's persepective and experiences. So to all the critics, get off your high horses, open your ears and maybe you will learn something.
Rating: 4
Summary: Not the most elegantly written book, BUT...
Comment: if I had read this book when I was graduating high school, I'd be in a much better financial position than I am now. This is not a book that you will use to get rich in a month, like most investment books. It WILL show you how to manage debt, develop a sound long term investment strategy, and hopefully retire with a sizable nestegg. My only problem is the author tends to repeat himself ALOT, but it's a small thing among the priceless information presented. I would recommend this book to any fresh out of school teenager or college student. The information presented here SHOULD be a mandatory class for all high school seniors.
