Summary: The Physician - ReRead Several Times
Comment: As a fiction reader who has only a few authors I am able to reread, this book has high marks from me. My spouse groans and asks me how many times I am going to read it whenever I pull it out.
The book is about Rob J. Cole who in the 11th century is willing to be executed, or excommunicated to become a physician. He travels for several years from England just to reach a school to learn to become a doctor. The reason he does this is because there is no school for physicians in England, and he hears good things about the leader of this school.
The characters are tremendous and they draw you in to their lives. They are very real friends to you.
When Rob J is scared, you fear for him despite how much is left of the book. When any character you loved comes to harm you are cut to the quick.
This book is a must RE read over and over and I highly recommend it to all who are interested in reading about medicine.

Summary: Marvelous!
Comment: This book is marvelous. A book describing an atribulated life of an orphan, from surviving (with 9 years old) in a dark England (and Europe) sufocated with the religious madness in those dark ages, passing by trip to Persia and... well, you'll read it! His objective is to become a physician. You'll learn to love the character. Great things will happen. In the end, when you remember what happened through the book, you will feel nostalgia... It's one of those book telling a life's story, that will keep you interested 'til the end, and make you think when you finish its reading. Recommended. Buy it! You won't regret it!

I don't know if this book is fiction or based on a true story. It certainly has lots of historical basis and I am sure Noah Gordon did a long research in writing this book. It is very amusing.
