Summary: Just Try It!
Comment: This book changed the daily life of my 12-year-old son, as well as his future. He suffered from migraines almost weekly for years. He missed a lot of school, social events, sleep-overs, sports activities. And he had a life time of taking drugs ahead of him--drugs that did nothing to get rid of his headaches.

We saw Dr. Buchholz on TV while my son was home with a migraine. It was meant to be! I immediately got the book. We started following his plan that day. In the next two and a half months, he has had only 2 minor headaches which we were able to identify the cause. He has not taken any drugs.

I have recommended this book to everyone I come in contact with that suffers from headaches, and many of them are children. You have nothing to lose but your headache. I am so grateful for the relief it has brought to my son.

Summary: A truly remarkable book
Comment: Many books promise to change your life. Almost none actually do. This book can. It did for me. I suffered eighteen years(and that is the correct word) with continual headaches. At certain times they would occur daily. At other times, days apart, but never a week without pain. That was then, this is now. Dr. Buchholz's book has, quite literally, changed my life. His program works. But as he says, the correct approach to headaches is simple-though not necessaarily easy. He states, further, that each person must accept responsibility for his headache and have the will to control them. It is a tough love approach. But, and I say it again, the program works. It works if it is followd faithfully. If you have tried everything to relieve your pain and nothing has worked; not medication (especially medication) nor meditation nor any of a thousand remedies, and you've just about given up hope, I urge you to read this book. Dr. Buchholz offers lasting relief for headache pain sufferers.

Summary: Forget Atkins -- Migrainers Need a Buchholz Diet Revolution
Comment: I first read this book and saw Dr. Buchholz six months ago. For the second time in three years, my migraines and associated symptoms of dizziness and nausea had become so bad that I hadn't been to work in weeks. I had tried everything, but seemed to suffer regular migraines no matter what I did. For years I had carried a pill fob of painkillers and abortive drugs with me everywhere I went, and felt entirely dependent on the meds (I didn't abuse them, but on a few occasions when I had needed them and didn't have them with me I had ended up in the emergency room getting shots of Toradol).

You've heard this all before I am sure... it is six months into the diet and discontinuation of all drugs except a daily preventative, and I have had only 3 or 4 headaches in that time. I know longer carry those medications at all.

This is not a fad diet for a quick fix, but an incredibly empowering approach for the long term that requires you to make tough changes. You have to forego abortive medications and make some pretty tough dietary changes. But it works 100x more than any other approach that I have tried -- it truly makes a difference.
