Summary: Good for beginners, no help for deeper questions
Comment: This is the "Cliff Notes" of learning guides. If you want to do a letter, fine; a spreadsheet, fine; etc. But, what if the question is how do I do a custom logo and insert it in Word Pro's Letter2 template? Less help than the online help which is utterly useless and said uselessness was what prompted me to search out this book in the first place. If you've never turned on a computer before, buy this book. If you've used a computer more than two minutes, search out a more comprehensive learning guide.

Summary: While easy to read and understand it is too basic .
Comment: The book covers the most basic applications and will perhaps be a help to the novice however it lacks any content that a user needs to understand funcions that go beyond the basics of the suite applications. For example there is no reference to the icon customization capability or how to print an envelope from the address section of the Organizer application. Perhaps this should be apparent from the title subscript("fast and easy"). For information on some of the more detailed aspects of this software the book is not a help.

Summary: Best Lotus Book Ever Written For Computer Dummies!
Comment: We just bought an IBM computer that came with Win95 and SmartSuite97. Knowing nothing about either, we set about trying to use our software. Needless to say, we soon ran into insurmountable troubles. So, when in doubt, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Well, we bought Fast & Easy and life has been sweeter ever since. Sharon Podlin writes extremely understandably and the pictures lead one around by the nose in such a way that a total idiot (like me) can use this very sophisticated software very easily. Hats off the Ms Podlin for making my life easier anyway. BRAVO! I would not hesitate to purchase another of her works if needs be. Thank you Sharon. D.Malsbury Reno, NV
