Summary: Very helpful and informative
Comment: I had read "What to Expect When You're Expecting" but when I saw this book in the library I was all over it - something that caters to the over 35 woman! It was easy to read and had a lot of good technical information as well as a personal touch as the author herself had an over 35 pregnancy as well as some miscarriages. I'm not pregnant (yet!) but I look forward to being able to go back and take advantage of the week by week format that the author presents.

Summary: Why didn't I get this before??!!
Comment: I bought this book 3-months after my first child was stillborn when I was 37. Convinced that I needed to be more informed for the next time I was pregnant, I wanted a book that would address ME and MY special circumstances. Boy .. did I luck out. Dr. Shanahan has dealt with over-35's pregnancies and had one herself - she KNOWS of which she speaks. Now I feel absolutely READY to face another pregnancy. I especially LOVE the regular snapshots showing REAL people as well as excerpts from Dr. Shanahan's journal (she leaves us space to jot our own quick notes). And the question and answer part asks the questions that are buzzing through my head and are answered simply and honestly.
In short - GREAT book! Buy it for yourself or someone close to you. You WON'T regret it!

Summary: Excellent, my favorite
Comment: This is far and away my favorite pregnancy book. It has tons of information, but spreads it out so you can read it when it is applicable. In response to the person who thought this book was negative, I can't understand how this book could be any more positive and be at all realistic. I would highly recommend this book to anyone even trying to become pregnant after 35, and suggest that even younger women could find tons of useful information in it.
