Summary: Outdated Information spoils this book (and our day trips)
Comment: I am a fan of the Unofficial Guide series. So I was quite shock by the inaccuracies or omissions I found in this bk (7th edition).

Example 1. It says to proceed first to the petting zoo section of the Natural History museum as it gets crowded quickly. When I got to the Museum, the front desk guide told me that section had been closed over a year ago.

Example 2. It recommended the Tourmobile bus to see the city. Tickets are $5.50 a person. Dead wrong. Tickets were $18 a person.

Example 3. We got to the Air & Space museum at 10 sharp and the line was about 50-people long. Due to 9/11, everyone has to be bag-checked now. No mention of that in the book. Forgivable. What was not forgivable was that it didn't say there was ANOTHER Entrance on the other side of the building and that has NO LINES at all. Don't call yourself the Unofficial Guide if you can't point out these things.

I was tempted to return the book and get my money back but couldn't be bothered. Thanks so much.

Summary: Excellent source for "up-scale" travel
Comment: The Fodor guides are a good source for the various locations around the globe. They are not as good as the Arthur Frommer guides. The Fodor guides are not for the budget traveler. They focus on the pricier accommodations and restaurants. But, what they do rate there is a wonderful detailed description. The maps could be more detailed.***

Summary: Best book on D.C.
Comment: I just took a trip to D.C. and checked out all the books out there. This one is the best. Simple, concise, and informative. Nice features such as rating different sites for different age groups. Also has great explanation of subway systems, tellig you the closest station for all sites.
