Comment: I was 13 years old when this movie came out. A friend & I sat through this movie 4 times (something you can't do anymore without repaying admission). I enjoyed it then & I still enjoy watching it today. Sure it lacks a plot, but nevertheless, it takes you back to the days when Disco was hot! Donna Summer makes her film debut, but her acting is a little wooden. But she's still fun to watch. Everybody in the film goes to the Zoo for their own reasons. Riding the crest of Saturday Night Fever's success, TGIF holds its own. Jeff Goldblum, Debra Winger, Terri Nunn, Paul Jabara and the Commodores add to the mix. If you want a temporary escape back to the disco world of yesteryear where you could just have fun & not have a care in the world, TGIF is for you.

Comment: Issued just after Saturday Night Fever, using 'Friday' in the title...yep, this movie was destined to fail. It did, but what is special to show it or buy it now? First it's the only movie performance of Donna Summer, shining and breathtaking like she always was and still is! Further it can be considered a good documentary about disco, disco music and the feeling of that era. Parties without boundaries, everybody happy and everything possible. Some nice tunes, some nice jokes, nice design, but very seventies and dull. Could be a nice documentary rather then an entertaining movie. But hey, party is a party, so not to be taken too seriously. With that attitude? Then the film is nice to watch, and the perfect video wallpaper for a seventies disco party :-)
