Summary: Good Intro Book
Comment: I bought this book for my father, who is getting a new computer loaded with XP. He is NOT a computer whiz and doesn't really want to be. This is a book for someone who needs a handy printed reference on XP basics, peppered with some useful tips.
I looked at several of the other introductory books in the store and though some had friendly looking, brightly colored pages, none of them had the straightforward organization and succinct writing that this book offers; nor were they as comprehensive. It's very easy to find answers in this book!
If you can get past the unattractive newsprint paper and don't mind the relatively small illustrations, this book will provide enough detail to point a novice in the right direction and help him quickly accomplish tasks without getting bogged down in lengthy descriptions.

Summary: A disgrace to "Complete" series' reputation
Comment: 950 pages of non sense.
* If you are a novice, you will only get confused.
* If you are a pro, your intelligence will get insulted.
* At times, incomplete, at other times, misguiding if not totally incorrect information.
If you,like me, looking to evaluate the XP before you burn your pocket for an upgrade or the full version, look else where.
On the contrary, "Windows 2000 Complete" was a success and still is a good reference book published by SYBEX.
