Summary: Great rainy day book and biblical study aid
Comment: Those of you who are fans of any kind of timeline historical charts will enjoy this large-format (a bit bigger than 12 x 17) foldout slick cardboard timeline. 9 of the panels lead horizontally from (yup, you guessed it) Adam & Eve to Nero, circ. 90 AD. Arranged vertically on each panel are continuing color-coded tracks of dynasties and biblical family lineages. A must if you are doing the cover-to-cover thing of the Bible and are struggling thru the drier parts. Other panels provide the usual bible-era maps. Reverse of the timeline provides lists of battles, prophets, etc. too numerous to mention. I love this book myself, but it would be great for any 8-11 year-old with nothing to do on a rainy day.

Comment: Really great illustrated map of the bible but next to impossible to get. I've had it on order for 2 months and it continues to be pushed out. Other book stores don't even offer it. Incredible reference. I'm ordering for Christmas gifts.

Summary: Excellent for both reference and pastime
Comment: This is actually a reference, rather than a book. As the title suggests, it is a Timechart reference with the historical calendar ruler lines, but packed with gorgeous illustrations.
Do the "family trees" in the Bible ever seem overwhelmingly hierarchical to figure out? Not anymore. This book manages to illustrate ONE single family tree, in a clear and concise manner, from the Book of Genesis to the Gospel chapters. The Publisher, author(s), illustrators and graphic designers deserve an applause for their meticulous labor. There are smart and impressive applications of colors and side notes, with relevant arrangement of the Biblical Book affiliations along the genealogical generations. In addition, in the lower half of the giant pages, world history figures and events are listed concurrently. (See for yourself what I mean by "giant pages".) Indeed they solidify the reader's conceptual association of biblical and historical events.
There is also a "2nd page bonus" (in a way this book contains only one but very long page, contained with foldable portions). It contains indexed summary information about the Book, information that sometimes readers want to review but may have to dig through the chapters. The Kings and Prophets, Wars and Battles...are presented in neat summary tables.
For Biblical scholars, academic theologians, practicing chaplains, the family household of adults and children, this "book" is of immense value to all Bible patrons of any background. Although the star ratings are based on its value as a reference, it is a joy just to read it by itself for pastime.
Wholeheartedly recommended.
