Title: What No One Tells the Bride: Surviving the Wedding, Sex After the Honeymoon by Marg Stark ISBN: 0-7868-8262-X Publisher: Hyperion Pub. Date: 03 June, 1998 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $14.95 |

Summary: Excellent for the engaged or newly married woman!
Comment: The thing I like best about this book is that it tells you the truth. Most things that are directed toward the bride-to-be skirt around issues and make marriage sound perfect. "What No One Tells the Bride" does not do this. It states from the beginning that, yes, you will have problems in your marriage and, no, you will not always agree on everything. Unlike most "bridal books," this one applies to what happens after the wedding.
If you are planning a wedding or are newly engaged, I strongly suggest you check out this book. It is an excellent read, gives great advice, and is well worth it.

Summary: Thank God I'm not crazy!!!
Comment: When I became engaged my life totally changed from the day I said yes to my fiancee. I thought all this feelings, doubts, fears and discussions were the expresions of a "non-prepared for marriage" bride to be. Marg totally tackles rocky subjects about getting married and how to survive the desition because it does't matter how well prepared you think you are or mature this big step takes you by surprise. Having an inside scoop at what other couples have gone throught in this period and early in their marriage helps you realize you are not an alien. And being able to read about things like, friends and money talk give me some piece of mind that, as crazy as all the things that happen to the newly engaged might be, I'm definitelly not alone. I'm a professional Latin american bride and this book is been as helpful to me at this stage of my relationship as if I was an all american girl, which proves how great this book is and also how common and universal the issues described in this book are for brides all around the globe. Unless of course you have an arranged marriage...

Summary: Good insights, but I was hoping for great....
Comment: Peppered with anecdotes which detail the Author's personal transition to a married life, this book is not for everyone. Although Stark offers many good insights, she is a freelance writer- not a relationship counselor or psychologist. If you are seriously soul searching and looking for something 'meaty', look elsewhere.
