Summary: An excellent book about an excellent black trial lawyer
Comment: Vilified and maligned since the shocking O.J. verdict, the high profile lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, Jr., member of the famed :"Dream Team" sets the record straight in his new book, Journey to Justice, co-authored with Tim Rutten. In this book, we learn a lot about Johnnie Cochran the man, his passion and committment. We learn more about his deep family ties, religious conviction, and sense of justice, which led him to take such high profile cases, from Leonard Deadwyler, a black motorist stopped for speeding to the hospital with his pregnant, then shot dead, to the black football star Ron Settles, who was murdered by the police in an apparent attempt to make his death look like a suicide. Those looking for a lot of details on the O.J case would be well advised to steer clear of this book, but those who want to learn more about the life of one of the finest trial lawyers in America will not be disappointed

Summary: Excellent Historical Synopsis of the Los Angeles Police Dept
Comment: I couldn't put it down! An outstanding historical perspective of the LAPD as well as a heart warming autobiography of Johnnie Cochran 'the family man'. It gives great insight into events that occured during the O. J. Simpson trial. While it is not a blow by blow account of the court proceedings, it opens your eyes to some glaring facts and forces you to take off the blinders that may not have allowed you to see the full picture. I now have a new and greater respect for Johnnie Cochran. It is very well written and the 'story' flows well which results in easy reading.

Summary: THE WARRIOR LAWYER!!!
Comment: I read this book a few years ago. I was very intrigued about Mr. Cochran especially after the O.J. Simpson trial. This book is awesome and so is Johnnie Cochran!! The racism he had to put up with, as well as the numerous times he confronted the L.A.P.D.!! He lays it on the line about himself, his life and his growth. If you liked the man, you'll love him after reading this book. If you don't know the man, you'll gain the greatest respect for him after reading this book!!
