Title: Look Inside Cross-Sections: Tanks (Look Inside Cross-Sections Series) by Richard Chasemore, Ian Harvey ISBN: 0-7894-0768-X Publisher: Dorling Kindersley Publishing Pub. Date: 01 August, 1996 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $6.95 |
Average Customer Rating: 4 (3 reviews)
Rating: 3
Summary: Cute, but lightweight
Comment: This book is fun for its cut-away illustration, but is very light on textual information.
Aside from M1 Abrams, only WWI and WWII models of tank are depicted.
Illustrations are cartoonish and in some places very vague.
Excluding glossary and index, it is 27 pages long, with nine tanks illustrated in cut-away view: Mark-I (1916), A7V (1917), Whippet (1918), Renault FT17 (1918), Russian T-34 (1940), Churchill (1944), King Tiger (1943), Sherman (1942), and Abrams (1980).
I would recommend this book for children under the age of 16.
Rating: 5
Summary: Alternative Activity Book!
Comment: Hidden in these excellent cut-aways are "resident" mices in various locations of the vehicles (in one case, even sectioned!!). They were discovered by accident and have since entertained scores of my friends during lunch breaks. Do look out for a reappearing cup too!

Summary: I love this book
Comment: I got this book from my uncle and I have to this is a great book. The pictures are great and so is the information. I'm buying one for my brother.
