Summary: The Greatest Guide Around!!
Comment: This is an excellent guide to Spiderman. Its in depth detail is great for people who have never read a Spiderman comic. I'd advise buying it if you love Spiderman and want to learn more.

Summary: Full of boring details....
Comment: Tom DeFalco is one of the writers who gave us the clone saga, so right away he has no right to write a guide book on a beloved hero he helped destroy. Better to watch the Spider-Man movie DVD that does contain a better written of history of Spidey and the fact that now film makers treat him much better then the current comic book writers do not.

Summary: Almost perfect.
Comment: I purchased this book to make up for the bitter disappointment that was Marvel Encyclopedia. The Ultimate Guide turned out to be vastly better, but still flawed. No Shocker? Why leave out someone as prominent as The Shocker, especially since he was just in the Spider-Man video game which was very successful. There are other omissions as well, for example, Tarantula. The book is too slim. It should run at least 250 pages, with perhaps a cover gallery or something. Or more information about other Spidey story-lines. I guess they're saving that for the "Expanded Edition".
Those are the main problems. The Ultimate Guide is still a great buy for Spider-Man freaks. We probably won't get anything better.
