Summary: The best selection I've ever seen.
Comment: This doesn't have every song in the Jazz repetoire that I've wanted to learn, but it comes as close as I can imagine- it gets so many key songs from so many eras its hard to complain. Oddly, it's probably weakest with material from the pre-swing years, where many of the tunes are public domain, but, I can't make it more than two or three pages without thinking, "Yeah, I'll have to learn that one, too." And the chord choices are particularly strong- something that hasn't impressed me with other fake books. Yep. This is the one to get if you want to build up your repetoire.

Comment: I belive this is a great book. It's got all the great jazz tunes like "In The Mood","Fly Me To the Moon", and many, many more. It's got over six hundered, SIX HUNDRED SONGS, packed into this book. I encourage all trumpet players who play jazz to buy this book.

Summary: A good introduction to jazz
Comment: As an intermediate piano student eager to learn about jazz chord voicings, this book has proven valuable and has expanded my knowledge of music and ability to play with others. The book has also introduced me to jazz interpretations of standards, popular songs and Broadway tunes. I've been able to take it with me and use it to accompany vocalists where there is no set agenda and always find plenty to play. The type size is very small but if I want to work on one song alot or use with others I just enlarge it through photocopies. I hope others in this series are as good.
