Comment: As an athletic trainer I feel it is essential to have a sound knowledge base of therapeutic modalities in order to properly and efficiently treat athletes. Therapeutic Modalities in Sports Medicine offers modality techniques ranging from therapuetic massage to use of spinal traction and lasers. It offers physiologic responses as well as technical explanations of uses of each of the modalities. I feel that "mini-glossaries" of terms and vocabulary used in each chapter provide easy use and reading, especially with the technical explanations of the physics aspect of modalities(you don't need a dictionary next to you!). This book is a must for certified and student athletic trainers alike! It is also a great resource for any academic cirriculum containing therapeutic modialities.
