Rating: 5
Summary: 799 Pages of Wisdom in a 100+ pp
Comment: Though out of print, this small volumne brings to the reader an appreciation of spirit and matter, light and dark, masculine and feminine. Corless brings a fascinating integral picture of what it might be like to be a "whole" human being. And, perhaps more importantly, he offers numerous tools to assist in the journey, from a revaluation of the psalms, where to find a good hymnody, and when discussing retreat times makes references to various monasterys available.

Try to find it in at a site that sells used editions. Perhaps Paulist Press will re-issue this gem!

Summary: Learning to integrate the spiritual and the ordinary
Comment: The test of a good book is how often you lend it out and have to repurchase. I'm now trying to locate a third copy.

Mr. Corless' concept is that when people wallow in the material world, we are 'lushes' represented by a triangle (point up). When we have our heads up in the clouds,we are the 'astronauts' (triangle point down). Most of us live lives shaped more or less like an hourglass wavering between the two factions; one minute with our head lost in spirituality, the next in hedonism. Our life work is to start moving the two together, striving for integration (represented by the star of David, the perfect integration, which is the Christ.)

While this concept is not totally new, the way it was presented here has made it a life changing book for me.

I am deeply sorry that it is out of print, because I have several friends I would love to give it to as gifts.
