Summary: Mostly entertaining with exceptions
Comment: I have the 2003 daily calendar. Less than half of this year's entries are survival-related; actually many of them are on environmental topics. I would mildly recommend the 2004 version, except that "Today's Hero" for 9/1/03 was Col. Muammar Qaddafi of Libya. (Anyone remember Pan Am 103?) It said his junta seized power in a "nearly bloodless coup", meaning bloody coup. I received no response to my email to the publisher inquiring what possessed them to call a terrorist a hero. I guess their irony was lost on me.
