Summary: Excellent Shoreline Concept Book for K-1 Level
Comment: My daughter is a kindergarten teacher and she has incorporated this book into her Comparing Salt and Fresh Water Life Unit. This year we are going to use it as a guide to field visits to the salt water bays on Cape Cod.

The book stresses inquiry and basic concepts at the shore such as water movement, sand, patterns, tides, and wind that forms dunes. The book is a great introduction and reinforcement discussion starter. The last page "Words in Shore Life" emphasis important concepts for K-1 level.

Most books of this type just identify life and suggest crafts. "Shore Life" is a learning book that advanced K-1's can even read for themselves. It is too bad there is no BIG BOOK to go with it.
