Summary: Eh, so-so . . .
Comment: This book reminds me of an old feminist joke, which went like this: When a man marries a woman, the two become as one -- and the one they become is the man. If I understand this author correctly, when a Christian marries a Jew, the two become as one -- and the one they become is the Christian.

I think the author is sincere and well-meaning, but her premise -- that children of interfaith marriages are somehow better off because now they have TWO religious traditions to draw strength from, is not only silly, but incorrect. According to studies recently released by Jewish cultural demographers in Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and New York, who were hired specifically to study the effects of interfaith marriages on Jewish family life, this is the bottom line:

By and large, in marriages where the wife is Jewish and the husband is not, the children tend to be raised Jewish. In marriages where the husband is Jewish and the wife is not, the children do not wind up with any significant Jewish upbringing or identity.

The author is well-intentioned but poorly informed. Other books handle the subject better.

Summary: well intentioned but not useful
Comment: this book offers a romanticized veiw of raising interfaith children: it goes into depth extolling the benefits, but offers scant pragmatic advice on how to deal with the challenges and potential costs. i did not find the book at all helpful.
