Summary: Practical Advice for Family-Friendly Ministry
Comment: There has been a lot of emphasis on creating youth ministries that are family-friendly in the past few years. Because of this, quite a few books have come to the forefront advocating a philosophy and rationale for youth ministry. While all of those books are great, most of them have one flaw - they focus almost exclusively on theory and philosophy, and neglect to be practical. This book assumes you can find all the philosophy of why to do family ministry elsewhere, and therefore focuses on the practical side of things--how do you do it. As the title suggests, the book gives 101 ideas that any youth leader can incorporate into their ministry in an effort to be more family-friendly. The ideas range from just fun (hosting family picnics) to encouraging (forming a family support group) to the serious (dealing with teens who do not live with their parents). Overall, an excellent resource to help youth leaders be more proactive in working with parents and families.
