Summary: An excellent research guide!
Comment: Research Guide to Philosophy by Terrence N. Tice, Thomas P. Slavens is a well developed guide book in the realm of philosophy ; the table of contents is clean and therefore easy to use. Each of the authors wrote a seperate preface( which I found to a bit odd) and these prefaces are well written and have a scholarly tone and writing style which is expected from this kind of book. The articles themselves are very easy and very well written, e.g., the article of Ludwig Wittgenstein was fascinating; another aspect that made Research Guide to Philosophy by Terrence N. Tice, Thomas P. Slavens a good choice for the study and reading of philosophy is that it is easy to use and I particularly enjoyed the further readings section. The index in the end is a bit confusing since instead of subdividing author and title which would have made perfect sense; these two are thrown together in one category. The subject index is easy to use though and I sort of which that the authors had had this on thier mind whilst they were creating the first index and by doing so they, i.e., the authors would have created three seperate indexes rather then the two that exist now.
