Summary: I wish I had this book when I was starting out
Comment: Dr. Gary Rosberg and his wife Barbara have written a wonderful handbook for marriage that would benefit any couple, no matter how long they've been married, or even if they're just engaged.
The book covers six "types of love" one needs to nurture in a marriage: "Forgiving Love", "Serving Love", Persevering Love", "Guarding Love", "Celebrating Love", and "Renewing Love". The Rosberg's use many examples from real-life couples they've either counseled in Dr. Rosberg's practice, or people they've met in life or through their radio show, "America's Family Coaches Live". It's through the radio show that I found out about this book. As I wrote in my title, I wish I'd had this 20 years ago. My own marriage is strong, but it could have been so much sooner if I'd been told some of the truths in here. Biblically-based, the book can help you wherever you are on the "marriage map", as the Rosberg's call it. Do yourself and your "significant other" a favor, and invest in your relationship by buying this book.

Summary: Powerful Stuff
Comment: I'm only 24 and just newly married. We were given these books(both the Rosberg's books) from a friend as a gift. And we have taken on reading one a piece. We are both learning a lot about how to protect our marriage. We both came from divorced parents, and we don't want to see that trend happen with us! We are joining the fight to Divorce-Proof America's Marriages and plan to give this book to who ever gets married in the future! Suggest this book to your friends and family who are married. Even if they Don't have ANY problems...which is unlikely in any relationship. They are definately fighting the good fight with these books, and giving me and my husband a lot of direction to grow even closer and stronger in our marriage. Get this book for whoever you know for Christmas!! A saved marriage is a gift that will keep on giving for a lifetime. And it is nice to share reading it with your mate. No one plays the blame game, you just get back on the right path to marital happiness. If more people had this books, maybe they would not go through the discouragement that leads to divorce! GET THIS BOOK, SHARE THIS BOOK, RE-READ THIS BOOK WITH YOUR MATE. It really is giving us faith that all marriages can be saved, given two individuals who actually WANT to save their marriage and keep it safe. I love it and it is a real life book, not any pretty poetic or overly biblical solutions. Both real and spiritual, it really motivates us both to work harder everyday to fulfill each others love needs and keep our marriage going strong for the next 50 years! People map out their fianances and buy book after book about investing...well, let's invest in our marriages, our families, and even deeper, our next generations! It's definately worth re-reading over and over. Good luck on everlasting love!

Summary: How to build a great marriage!
Comment: Dr Rosberg hits the nail squarely on the head in this book. He looks at marriage, not as a 50/50 relationship, but as a 100/100 persent relationship. His whole idea is not "what can I get out of this relationship, but how can I better serve". Not a position that is very popular today! I highly reccommend this book to anyone who is wanting a deeper and stronger relationship with their mate. This could also serve as a wonderful 'small group discussion guide'.
