Comment: Want to quickly optimize a formula, process, or procedure? Don't want to spend a fortune on statistical experimental design software? Don't want to spend time learning how to use software to handle mixtures, constraints, expanded designs and all that rot? Buy this book (if you can find it), and you can get the same results the statistician would, with just a hand calculator, or pencil and paper. The only difference is you won't have a lot of fancy graphs to show off your results (although you could do that if necessary).

Too bad this book is out of print. An electronic copy used to be available free on the web, but I haven't seen it lately.
