Customer Reviews

Rating: 4
Summary: fantastic resource for anyone interested in American Arts
Comment: This book has gorgeous photographs, wonderfully written text and a wonderful glosary of terms. I think the introduction is a little disjointed and long-winded. Skip over that and take a look at the entries for the paintings, furniture, silver, glass and ceramics. Lots of useful and interesting information. This is more than a coffee table book and would make a fantastic Christmas present!

Rating: 5
Summary: A marriage of the Art Institute's collection and Americana
Comment: Finally, a book that can illuminate the wonderful collection of American art at the Art Institute of Chicago. This one is bound to be a standard for anyone in the American arts and/or the collection at the Art Institute.
