Summary: The material will often surprise you, but it rings true.
Comment: If I were stranded on a desert island with a few other people and wanted to form a Biblically based government, this is the second of two books that I would want with me. To put it another way, this would be in the top 10 items that I would save, if my house were burning. What does it mean to be dead to the law? Aren't we under grace, now? As an antinomian, this book has dealt me a body blow. Capital punishment? I used to be very indecisive, but now am confident. Did Rahab sin when she gave false directions regarding the where abouts of the spys? If a Nazi had asked you, if you were hiding Jews, and you were, would you be sinning to lie or sinning not to lie? When, if ever, does a Christian go underground in opposition to an ungodly regime? Is there a time not to turn the other cheek? These and countless other questions, that are often a quandary to Christians and that often render them fence straddlers , as to the correct response, are seriously and adequately dealt with. No, I do not swallow this book hook, line and sinker doctrinally, but it has helped me greatly to define what is the correct response, as to life's issues.

Comment: RJRushdoony's Institutes have transformed me from a pessimistic premillennial dispensationalist to an optimistic victorious postmillennial theonomist.
There are only two religions on this earth; Christianity and Humanism. Humanism has a multitude of various names, some even claiming to be Christian. But you will know them by their fruits.
There is no area outside of religion. Every thought is religious, so the question is not religion or no religion, but which religion? There is no neutrality.
"Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" is not a recommendation. It is not an invitation or a suggestion or even good advice. It is a command. Salvation is of the Lord and of His choosing. Those who insist upon "free-will" fail to realize they are committing Adam's sin; insisting that they can determine good and evil...They "choose God" not realizing he has rejected them if they hold to this notion and will not repent of their presumptuous sin. What is the test of whether or not we love God? see John 14:15,21,&23. The starting point of our thinking,(our philosophy),will be either God-centered or it will be man-centered.

Summary: A must read!!!
Comment: (I had a hard time signing in under the adult section, so I just wrote my review under the kids section.) I am currently reading this book for school, and I love it!! I am 16 and have read many books that deal with biblical law, but none have made as much sense as Rushdoony's has. My eyes have been opened to many fallacies I have been taught by the church, or society. I would recommend this book to anyone searching for the real truth in all matters.
