Summary: Wonderful big book
Comment: This is a big book, not an ordinary size book, and it is really fun to prop on your knees and read. It is so well-written. The woman is English but it is obvious she really cares about her horses. She has photos of all the different things she tells you to do as far as your horse's care is concerned. Most of the things are the same in England and in the States except that I don't know what a 'manege' is. But it's an excellent book and well worth the price.

Summary: Beautiful and educational! A+
Comment: This book is comprised of all levels of information about the horse and horseback riding. It touches on all forms of the sport: Huntseat, cross country, dressage, trail riding, ect. It contains information regarding lungeing, riding in the manage, horse purchasing, health and general care, and all the other basics that you need to know. Beautiful photographs and large beautiful binding adorn this book, making it very good as a horseman's coffee table book, as well as an informative addition to his/her library. NOTE: It appears this book has eithet been translated or written in Great Britain. Some of the vocabulary isn't standard American English, but should be pretty self explanitary. I rather enjoyed this book because I purchased it prior to taking any lessons on horseback. It gave me a pretty good idea of what to expect and how I should be progressing over time. This book does give considerable attention to jumping, but primarily takes a dressage-type approach. I recommend it to anyone who is learning or just plain enjoys English riding!
