Summary: It's a interesting overview, but doesn't match Clep
Comment: This is the second REA book I've used, the other being Principles of Marketing. For whatever reason, the tests that I took didn't match the topics covered in the book - in fact they were wildly different. Some people here have suggested that you look for other support materials in addition to this book and I second that. For me this book didin't help much. I did extremely well on the Marketing Clep because it asked many questions about the internet and internet marketing (the difference between an intranet vs a internet, for example). On the history test I barely sqeaked by - I would say 20% were on topics covered in the book, but many were cultural-patterns questions - "in the antebellum peroid, middle-class women tended to..." that were not in the study guide. By the way, there were many "antebellum" questions - which isn't mentioned in this book at all - instead it just talks about the Jacksonian years, expansion, pre-war causes, etc, so it might be quite a surprise if you've forgotten what that word means. Just two takeaways: the Clep can be very random, and it's a good idea to look to other sources that cover the topic in more depth.

Summary: Buy this book!
Comment: I found this book to be outstanding preparation for the CLEP. After reviewing the material, taking the sample exams, then reviewing the answers to the sample exams I scored a 76 on the test. It is important to review the detailed answers to the sample exams as they often provide more detailed explanations of those answers than are found in the beginning of the book. I wish I could find this company's book for US History II, but so far I have had no luck.

Summary: Book was enough..........
Comment: Well I concur with another reviewer here, book was enough of a base for me to pass the CLEP test. However, many questions on the actual test referred to periods, antebellum, that were not listed in this book. It was extremely helpful to read the detailed answers in the back after missing a question or just for more in depth knowledge of the subject. Also their were a lot of questions on women's rights and activists that were just skimmed over in the book. If you just want to pass the test, this book would probably be enough as long as you study it well.
