Summary: I became a better employee
Comment: After I read this book I became a much better, more efficient, more thorough, more productive employee. Eventually I had to get another job because mine wasn't a challenge anymore. I wanted more responsibility and a place where I could move up.
Rating: 5
Summary: One of my ten favorite books.
Comment: I give this book to everyone I know. I just have them read the first page of the first chapter, which begins, "On what does holding a job depend?" and they're hooked. The other chapters are:
"Handling the Confusions of the Workaday World" "Is Work Necessary?" "The Secret of Efficiency" "Life as a Game" "Affinity, Reality and Communication" "Exhaustion" "The Man Who Succeeds" "Recovery from Injury" and "How to Handle Work."
The book is beautifully bound, has a classy dustcover, and is a quick and easy read at only 130 pages of large type. Anybody with a job will benefit greatly from the information contained therein.
Rating: 2
Summary: Simplistic and impractical
Comment: One of the more readable of Hubbard's philosophical text books. It still is a very simplistic view of the subject and its solutions are only modestly practical. He should have stuck to sci-fi.
