Summary: GOOD LITTLE BOOK, BUT MIGHT FALL APART!
Comment: This is a decent little book on Cape Cod hauntings. Holly Nadler writes in an intelligent, colorful style. However, my new copy fell apart - ten or so pages separated completely from the binding - shortly after I began reading, so beware. Those who enjoy New England hauntings should also try Blue Balliett's two books, The Ghosts of Nantucket and Nantucket Hauntings. Balliett makes you feel a part of the story and you really get a sense of New England as well. These stories are straightforward, well presented accounts of true experiences and are most entertaining. However, those who prefer insomnia inducing fare with lots of gory details should look elsewhere.

Summary: Haunted Island -- Worthwhile Reading
Comment: The author's style presents the special flavor of the Island, its history and its charm. Then she draws the reader into each place, expertly spins her plot and acquaints us with her characters -- and suspends us until the end. We are tantalized by mysterious happenings and can only explain them by admitting the existence of 'other worldly' entities. I wait for another volume by Nadler.

Summary: Great Ghost Stories
Comment: I recently was on vacation in Cape Cod. I picked this book up while visiting Plymouth. I loved reading it. It made me want to go to Martha's Vineyard to see the haunted houses in Edgartown. I will definitely plan to visit the "Haunted Island" on my next visit to Cape Cod. I highly recommend this book especially to anyone who has been to Cape Cod or is planning to visit. It really gives you the feel of the past in New England. I am going to order some more books about ghost stories from New England. I can't wait to read some more haunted tales.
