Summary: Exploring the links between the tarot and psych archetypes
Comment: I saw this book in a second hand shop and subsequently devoured its contents... Cambridge professor Carl Sargent had expressed what I had felt for years - that the Tarot pre-dated Freud and Jung by at least 5 centuries in detailing the psychological 'journeys' we as humans will make in our lifetimes.

Sargent is an expert on both subjects, and draws both intuitive and scientific parallels between the older tarot and modern day psychological and personality theory. He explains the poignant theories of personality simply and easily, so the reader has no need of prior psychological knowledge.

This book is a must for those that like to focus more on the archetypal nature of the cards, in particlular in self-exploration. The extra depth this book gave to my understading of tarot was invaluable, and I have since found more recent books on the subject to continue my own exploration.
