Summary: Wonderful Aryeh Kaplan set
Comment: Actually, and contrary to the previous reviewer, this is the second volume of the Aryeh Kaplan Anthology. (The entire two volume set is entitled "The Aryeh Kaplan Anthology, vols. I and II," respectively).
The first volume (ISBN 0-89906-811-1) has a red jacket/cover while the second volume (ISBN 0-89906-868-5) has a blue jacket/cover. Both are hardcover editions.
The first volume contains the full text of four of Rabbi Kaplan's books: "Maimonides' Principles," "The Infinite Light," "If You Were God," and "The Real Messiah?" (in this precise order).
The second volume contains the full text of five of Rabbi Kaplan's books: "Jerusalem: The Eye of the Universe," "Sabbath: Day of Eternity," "Tzitzith: A Thread of Light," "Tefillin," and "Waters of Eden: The Mystery of the Mikvah" (again, in this precise order).
Each of these books can be obtained individually (perhaps through Amazon.com? but definitely through other online Jewish bookstores such as Artscroll.com).
I have not read all of these books. But I can say a little bit about Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan in general. He was both a leading rabbi in orthodox circles as well as a physicist of high ability (he received an MS in physics). But, alas, his life ended when he was still at his prime (b.1934 - d.1983).
Perhaps his most well-known legacy is the translation of the famous Sephardic (Ladino) work entitled "Me'am Lo'ez" on the entire Tanach (it is published by Moznaim today; see either Amazon.com or Judaism.com to order). From his work on this came "The Living Torah." Also, "The Handbook of Jewish Thought, vols. I and II" by Rabbi Kaplan provide foundational studies. Lastly, "The Aryeh Kaplan Reader" is a short book that contains some of his published essays and articles. He has also both translated as well as written a number of other works on kabbalah.

Summary: Belief and Observance with an inspirational perspective
Comment: In this Anthology (Volume One) Rabbi Kaplan addresses the classic beliefs of Judaism. What was God's intent through creation? and what is the role of mankind? He also includes essays with regard to Judaism's rejection of the Christian Messiah. Through his clear but respectful presentation, he calls upon his scholarly knowledge of both the Jewish Bible and the Christian New Testament to explain the Jewish perspective on the Messianic age. P.S. A second Volume of his writings has been published and is available from the same publisher. The second volume presents some of the classic Biblical commandments with an inspirational and sometimes Kabbalistic perspective.
