Summary: Any real Atlantan will love this book!
Comment: I picked this book up in a Thrift Store -- what a find! Between 1982 and 1983, George Mitchell took hundreds of black and white pictures of the sights and residents of Ponce de Leon. Looking at it now in 2004, it's absolutely amazing how little has changed.
Mary Macs, Krispy Kreme, Summit Apartments, Cleremont Lounge and Hotel, The Majestic, Greene's Liquors, The Abbey, The Massion, are all beautifully photographed.
My only disappointment with the book is that Ponce's most famous dancer, Blondie, wasn't mentioned in the book. Wasn't she dancing back then?
