Summary: Changed My Life
Comment: I read this book when I was about 19 years old and it changed my life. I had no idea what a trader was or what they did. ( I only knew what Stock Brokers did) This book eventually lead me to New York where I actually called Stanley Katz and started working on the AMEX as a market maker clerk. This book is exactly what it says. All the feel of what it's like to be a trader are in here as well as a little history of the various exchanges. My copy is a closely held favorite with various signatures from several people in the book.

Comment: This is the only book that I had read that really give an account of the action that takes place in the trading pits on a minute to minute basis in some cases.

It not only provides what pit life is all about but also gives you the feel which varies from one type of pit to another. You are treated to the easy-going stock market to the 'wild' commodities pits in Chicago. Best of all full details are given about the special characteritics of particular commodities pit such as the soybean trading pit, swiss franc pit etc. The live experience produced here is great for all traders regardless of your trading timeframe or type of market. You will find it stimulating!
