Summary: Where was this book when I was growing up?
Comment: At last a book that allows kids to be comfortable about their bodies, regardless of their shape. It also conveys to kids that there are many routes (musical, artistic, academic, athletic)to become stars. Imagine kids accepting other kids because of their variety of talents and the content of their character. The image makers in Hollywood are not going to like this. As a school principal, I cannot wait to get this book into the hands of my guidance counselors. This is a "must read" for anyone over the age of five.

Summary: Reaches Out To Kids On An Important Subject Matter
Comment: Every child should know that they are special, unique and a treasure. Sometimes those thoughts are clouded by self-doubt, poor body image and low self-esteem. With the help of books like "Shapesville", maybe children will grow up strong and confident. This book takes a really important and difficult subject matter and brings it back down to the child's level.

Without a doubt --- Shapesville is a tool for discussion and conversation. This should be required reading for all young people. Great debut by really strong writers. The illustrations were really creative and I think that this book is full of great talking points. Recommended Very Highly!!!!!
