Summary: A useful crib of the complete works of Hafiz
Comment: This book appears to be essentially the same book easily available in Iran -- the complete "Diwan" of Hafiz (the complete works), along with the painfully literal (and very useful) translation by Wilberforce-Clarke. The translation is almost a word-for-word crib, which is very useful if you are trying to understand the accompanying Persian, but it can be almost unintelligible if you try to read it as a standalone poem.
Note that some vendors are trying to get very high prices for this book. It is certainly available in Iran (and other places) brand-new for an extremely reasonable price.
This is probably a necessity if you are thinking of trying to translate Hafiz, or simply trying to get at the sense of the original!

Summary: A True Guide to the Language of Hafiz
Comment: For anyone interested in understanding the depth of the poetry of Hafiz, Clarke's translations are a must. His comprehensive knowledge of Sufism and the hidden meanings in Hafiz' poetry is superior to any renderings that have come before these translations or after. Well worth reading whether for pleasure or research.
