Rating: 5
Summary: Great, thrilling, exciting adventure
Comment: This book rocks...., the work put into the detailed descriptions of the planes, can only be that of an experienced pilot. Chevy describes himself as having a passion for planes, this is made quite obvious by the facts that only a planes enthusiast would be able to give. Ignore that other review, some feel it necessary to be challenged intellectually to enjoy anything.
I can recommend this book to any person who loves to fly and is intrigued by a great suspense story. The dialogue was well thought out, and alot for the reader to keep being interested in this book.
It is obvious that alot of time was put into this book.
Looking forward to a sequel.....
Great job Chevy, Keep up the Great Work!
Rating: 2
Summary: Weak attempt
Comment: Black Falcon tells of dope pilot Rob, trying to get out of the business. Unfortunately, Rob is controlled both by an evil druglord and by his own internal demons.
What demons, you ask? Well, we have to keep guessing for 4/5 of the book as to what terrible thing happened to Rob 8 years ago that causes him to ignore the waitress who loves him. Finally, he 'fesses up to a near-stranger that he was in love once but he saw his girlfriend pleasuring another guy in her car. This traumatic event has kept him largely dysfunctional for EIGHT YEARS.
As with the above example, the characters in the story regularly acted in ways that were simply not believeable to this reader. The dialogue is unrealistic and childish. There is no escalation of tension, no building of conflict, and no interesting characteristics about the antagonist (or the protagonist, for that matter). There is no one in the story that the reader cares about. ...
