Summary: Pictures painted with words
Comment: Words about nature. Words that paint pictures in your mind. While reading, I feel as if I have an "inner eye" that was seeing the scene Whyte is writing about. Reading this book is like walking through a forest or an art gallery filled with paintings of nature. I can see, feel, smell and sense the scene Whyte's words paint.It's amazing how Whyte can touch your heart with his words.

Summary: Poetry at its best
Comment: I love all of David Whyte's poetry books, but this one, I believe, is my favorite. One of his earlier books, it is filled with poetry written from the "outside in". He usually begins with an experience in nature and then brings it to some internal universal insight that is always moving and beautiful, and often very educational. If you like Mary Oliver, David Whyte is a must read.
