Summary: Title should have been "The Safe Table Saw"
Comment: I found the title of this book and the reviews written about it very misleading. My first impression (based on title and reviews) was that this was a great book for table saw set up and maintenance and topics surrounding accuracy and jig building were covered in detail. After reading this book I found it to be quite the contrary.

First, this book is designed with the novice woodworker in mind. That being said, I still cannot recommend this book to novices. The author is great about introducing all topics pertaining to the table saw but is horrible at getting beyond that point. If this book was stripped of introductions and editorials, and only contained details (what is acceptable runout, step by step instructions on how to perform maintenance, adjusting the miter gauge, how to set up a specific jig, etc.) it would contain less than twenty pages.

Second, the author spends too much time on safety. Rather than having it be the theme throughout, I wish the author had dedicated one chapter to it and then had dialogue boxes throughout the rest of the book where he felt it necessary to point out being extra careful or a particular tip to accomplish the project safely.

Finally, the jigs referred to in the title number approximately five. Also, the author describes their purpose but does not list out directions or dimensions. The pictures do not help much as they are about three inches by three inches at best. How that warrants listing jigs in the title is beyond me.

Overall, this book still warrants two stars because of the safety tips and general overview. I cannot say I plan to ever go back and reference this so therefore I cannot recommend this to anyone.

Summary: The Accurate Table Saw : Simple Jigs and Safe
Comment: Building something your wife and friends are proud of or a piece that someone will pay hard cash for is not as easy as it sounds. This book made it possible for me. I'm using a cheap $188 saw and I'll match my work with the best using the most expensive saws. Ok I got a little carried away. I do get paid money for my work, though, and the book really did help. I've always dreaded making jigs because it seems like such a waist to build something just to help you build something else. I finally got over this and I'll now construct a jig in a heart beat. You can do the same so get on with it. PS If your hand is on the jig pushing it through the blade it's not on the work piece. BIG SAFTY FEATURE Build more jigs!!! Buy this book.

Summary: Not Impressed
Comment: I was disappointed with this book. There are much better books on the market - Table Saw Magic - for example.
