Summary: This book never came into print
Comment: By Daniel Ladinsky: This book never made it into print. We were about two weeks away from going to press with it (and had the ISBN number and all in place) when a major publisher bought this book from us and expanded the book by nearly a l00 poems. Almost all the poems that we had aimed for The Sun's Breath are now in that Penguin Hafiz book - The Gift, by me, published in 1999.

I once noted some online dealer selling a copy of The Sun's Breath for a large sum -- so beware. This could only have been a manuscript, though it is highly unlikely anyone but some close to me would have an orginal manuscript, and I doubt that other copies were ever made.

Here is a lovely unpublished line of Hafiz that will land on a 2005 Hafiz calendar in the works:

"God courts us with the beauty of this world."
