Summary: Finally. The book I'd been waiting for.
Comment: Until two days ago I had never heard of E-Business To Go, or the author. Then, while driving into Minneapolis scanning radio stations, I heard somebody say "lean and mean E-Business profit machines" or something to that effect, so I tuned in. The speaker was G. Liam Thompson, and from that moment on, I was hooked. Here was someone saying what I've been thinking for years...that an entrepreneur like me can have an online business without having to spend a fortune, or buy into all the HTML programming. That you don't have to be a "techno-freak" to have an E-Commerce store. Finally.
I picked up the book that afternoon, and couldn't put it down. He gives some awesome principles, but doesn't mince words or speak like a geek. For me, the site-builder reviews alone were a goldmine. I was looking for a certain kind of store-builder that wouldn't cost me much money, but still have me online and selling my products fast, with room to grow. The book had at least a dozen that sounded like a match, and I'm already into two of them. If your looking for a single handbook that guides the non-programmer type of person into a profitable online store in less than an hour, without any cost, this is the book. Things he says and the resources provided would have saved me hundreds of hours, if I had the book before. I don't know what radio station I was listening to that morning, but I'm glad I heard about E-Business To Go. It's loaded with tips and tools, and has some hilarious stories about dotbomb kinds of mistakes, which helps me know what not to do. I give it an A+.

Thompson shows the reader how to look as good and be as profitable as any big business website from Amazon.com to IBM; how to launch a complete, customized e-commerce site at virtually no cost; tap into scores of free ASP-based "biz-wiz" services; have access to the latest website designs and templates at no charge; sell anything to the global marketplace; build a shopping cart in less than three minutes; and let your e-business collect and bank revenues without the necessity of your time and attention. If you are selling any kind of goods or services over the Internet, you need to read Liam Thompson's E-Business To Go!

Summary: Past it's time.
Comment: This was probably an ok book for it's day. Now over 3 years later it is very dated. It talks alot about building for the long term but all of the author's company websites have either changed hands or closed down.
The great asp section that folks raved about years ago - well 1 or 2 are left of them. It is understandable that internet companies die - but these were held out as the survivors of the internet crash of 2000.
Pass on this book - Save the money and go to Wendy's for burgers.
